The purpose of search result ranking is to help customers find what they need. So still, the user experience of a website or a webpage will be significant.

With the development of big data, a search engine will be able to personalize rank result. So for SEO specialists, it’s important to understand the target customers. Basically, as an SEO professional, you would need to work closer to the content team; and product managers need to consider SEO. And more and more companies are applying to personalization tools, which will work together with the SEO.

Disappearance of metadata

Users rarely if not never see the metadata, which is mainly for the bots. People used to abuse the system by modifying the metadata and stuffing the keywords. With the better technology, even the image alt tags may not be necessary for the future. Bots should be able to detect what this page is about in the future, especially, with more and more images and multi-media content nowadays on the pages.

Also, SEO specialists can focus on the page content and UXUI more and concern less about how to plug in an <h1> tag into a well-designed page which may not necessarily have an <h1> to tell the human being what the title is.
